Fish in the City

Fish in the City is a responsive work about coping with mental illness. Through exploring my own relationship to photographic mediums, I found that the medium felt like a reconnection to the environment around me, which I often feel disassociated from. It was less about the image and more about the act and process of capturing everything around me, regaining control of my experiences.

Fish in the City resulted from taking those experiences -pieces of pictures from recent events - and creating a space where things didn’t belong or felt disconnected in some way, though approaching the subject more lightly and whimsically.
